Administration of Missouri Interpreters Certification System

MCDHH administers the Missouri Interpreters Certification System (MICS), which includes providing information concerning interpreting services and the laws regulating interpreters in Missouri, developing and implementing the administrative rules governing the MICS, evaluating and certifying interpreters, and promoting, supporting, and providing professional development opportunities for interpreters.

Workshops and Training

MCDHH provides workshops and training for both hearing persons and persons with hearing loss concerning a side variety of subjects, including deaf awareness, advocacy, empowerment, communications accessibility, and assistive technology.

MCDHH provides both individual and system-level advocacy for deaf and hard of hearing people.
